How are we doing? January is almost over! :)

January is almost gone and we'll be one month into this new year. By this point our resolutions are not just something we're making and talking about. They're either apart of our everyday life or they're another thing to feel guilty about because we haven't made a change yet. Hopefully you have the mindset of the first option. LIFESTYLE!!! It's now how we live our lives. No, we didn't wake up one day and complete a 180 and I promise you none of us will have it down to a science by January 31st. But! This is a childhood all over again. It's a learning process. It's "even though my mom told me not to touch the stove I must find out for myself!" OUCH!!! But once we found out why we don't touch the stove the memory of that kept us safe from it. This is all trial and error.

I just had to say that. Any who... Lol! I wanted to share what I have been doing to follow my resolutions. Based on the format of my previous posting I will share my steps and progress with you.

Spirituality:
1 Thessalonians 5:12-22
Reading the word daily on another exhibition through the New Testiment. In Romans right now.
Have been studying the idolatry in our society for writing and teaching purposes later on.

Finances:
Opened a credit monitering account through my bank to track down debt and moniter my credit score.
Will be opening an account at a credit union next paycheck.

1-22-12 before picture.
Stay tuned for the after pics.
Health:
Signed up for Nutrisystem and will be starting that this week.
Bought the Fluidity Bar. Finally! I've wanted it forever and a day. Will post reviews for both later.
Spent some time cleaning up my workout room.
Made a workout chart listing all my workouts and I can choose daily according to my needs.
Took my measurements and before photos today. It was devistating. I've gained more weight than before I lost the weight in 2010. A little sad about that but I've made a lifestyle change and will get this weight off.
She's so awesome! Love her!
Downloaded on my Kindle app Chalene Johnson's new book "Push." Working through the daily push to make the change. Stay tuned on that.

Relationships:
Loving on Hubby everyday!
Have reached out to an old friend I hadn't seen for a while and we have a play date coming up.

That's the latest with me. I hope you're on the right track with your goals. If not please hit me up for some accountability. Make the decision to change and follow through. I'm here! Thanks for reading!

Goodness! It's 2012!!!

Happy New Year! I've got to say I'm baffled that this year came so quickly. I'll jump right to it. New Year's Resolutions... I know. I know. So sick of hearing about them. It's just another failure by March or if we're lucky, May. Another year and we're all still fat, sick, depressed, in-debt smokers with more guilt about the umpteenth attempt at a hurdle we've not yet crossed. Most people don't even bother with them anymore. Well not hear to change anybody's mind. I understand the frustrations. On the real I lost 45lbs last year and gained it all back since my new job and added a few more. Talk about frustrating. I'm at 260lbs right now, the biggest I've ever been. So when we crossed the threshold of 2012 I've got to say I was on my couch not feeling it at all. The days to follow were so frustrating with trying to buy a new car and getting turned down left and right for almost no credit. Spent some time talking to donors (at work) who had the same "over it" attitude that I had about this year.

My 45lbs weightloss in 2011

Then I was sitting in bed and it hit me. It's 2012!!! Then I heard the voice of the Lord "Are you done sulking?" Then I started talking myself out of this rut. "You're not this person." "You can't continue feeling sorry for yourself." "You're forgetting just how blessed you are!" So that's where I'm at right now. A sulk and a pep talk into the new year and next come the actions to follow. I've made a few resolutions which I will share. But I must say all the Facebook posts from people downing New Year's Resolutions, were quite discouraging. Those that in a nutshell say that you shouldn't have to wait for a New Year to make a resolution or prayer does away with making resolutions, etc. Spare me! I'm not above it and I don't think there's ever a bad time to make a resolution. The New Year normally gives me an added boost as I know it does others as well. A fresh start! So get off your high horse and don't down those who aren't above them.

Having said that, my resolutions are as follows:

Spiritually:
1 Thessalonians 5:12-22
Now we ask you, brothers, to give recognition to those who labor among you and lead you in the Lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves. And we exhort you, brothers: Warn those who are lazy, comfort the discouraged, help the weak, be patient with everyone. See to it that no one repays evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good for one another and for all. Rejoice always! Pray constantly. Give thanks in everything, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Don’t stifle the Spirit. Don’t despise prophecies, but test all things. Hold on to what is good. Stay away from every evil.

Finances:
Build my credit
Open an account at a credit union
Open a savings account
Pay all (will try my hardest) bills on time
Get out of debt

Of course I'm always trying to lose weight so yet again I'm doing this...

Health:
Lose 100lbs
Become more involved in the dance community
Be more consistent with a healthy diet
Be more consistent with exercise
Enroll with Nutrisystem

Relationships:
Marriage: Be more intimate with hubby.
Be more involved in my friends lives. Reach out to them more and spend more time loving on them.
Forgive! Forgive! And Forgive some more!
Make new friends.
Find a church home.

Got to love making a list and having it to refer back to. It reminds me of the movie "Courageous." If you haven't seen it please do! If you have you know what I mean about resolutions. I want to frame mine. Lol! I just may and put it right next to my bed so it's a reminder every day.

Bottom line I believe making resolutions is better than not making them. Don't skip out on making a resolution because you're expecting to fail. If you need an accountability buddy guess what! Me too! Hit me up! I'm more comfortable trying to be better than just not bothering with it. That's just me. As always hope this speaks to you. Thanks for reading! God Bless you, friend!
